The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is an initiative that involves volunteers visiting older people who are lonely or experiencing social isolation. Each volunteer is matched with a compatible participant who they visit on a regular basis. Visits may involve any activities that both individuals enjoy, such as chatting over a cup of tea, playing a card game, or going for a walk.
As an ACVVS volunteer, you will help to improve the quality of life of an older person in the community by providing them with companionship and restoring their sense of social connection.
