Leading not-for-profit provider of aged care services
Volunteers are an integral part of Benetas, from our Board directors to facility bus drivers. We currently have over 400 volunteers from all walks of life who choose to work with older Victorians for a variety of reasons.
Current Volunteering Opportunities
As a provider of Aged Care residential services, we are seeking volunteers to support in our Dementia Program. The volunteers will help create reminiscence/ memory books, they would need to have an understanding of dementia, be able to talk with families to obtain information, photos, and ideas for the memory books; and be patient, kind and flexible.
In addition to the above, we are seeking volunteers for our Sundowner Programs for residents living with dementia; this may include participating in everyday activities, such as supporting the resident to chop or prepare food, dust, have a cup of tea, play a game of cards, reminisce. These would be afternoon hours if available (desirable).
Lastly, we are looking for volunteers to support residents to go out into the community for appointments when families are unable to; such as accompany them to scans, assist them to collect their spectacles, hearing aids, and light shopping.
As a safety precaution, all volunteers will need to have a clear police check, flu vaccination, and be happy to obtain a COVID vaccination.
