Early Childhood Early Intervention Service

Biala Peninsula is a highly regarded, long standing provider of specialist intervention services for children from 0-12 years with additional needs, delays and disabilities and their families. We have successfully transitioned to being a registered NDIS provider across the City of Frankston, Mornington Peninsula Shire and beyond.

Due to retirements, we are seeking skilled professionals to join our Board who have a commitment to good governance and capacity to contribute to the strategic development of our organisation and its services as we grow and expand. The initial appointment will be for two years and we welcome applications from people of all orientations, backgrounds and abilities.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will possess high ethical standards and be able to advocate on behalf of Biala Peninsula while demonstrating both independence and collaboration in decision making as well as a commitment to quality, equity and to upholding the values, vision and mission of Biala Peninsula.

We are particularly seeking candidates who have abilities and skills in governance and professional skills and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:

·         The disability or not-for-profit community sector
·         Risk management
·         Financial management and accounting
·         Legal or human resources
·         Lived experience of caring for a child with a disability

Commitment: Being a Board Member at Biala Peninsula involves attendance at an evening Board Meeting once per month, a planning session each year and joining one of our Board Committees which meet 4-6 times per year. Meetings are held at our Mornington office or by Zoom.

Board members will need to successfully complete a number of probity checks including Working with Children and Police Checks.
