Blaigowrie Friends of Mornington Peninsula National Park.

Restore Mornington Peninsula National Park flora and fauna

Blaigowrie Friends of Mornington Peninsula National Park meet twice each month (second Sunday and fourth Monday) to remove weeds and promote a safe environment for our iconic marsupials, birds and reptiles to thrive. This involves removing woody weeds and creepers so that local species can thrive and planting species that may be missing. We work for about 2.5 hours (9-11.30am) and then go for coffee and cake at someone’s home. You can contribute to the future of our piece of paradise, get some exercise, learn about our heritage and socialise – a great morning out.

No prior knowledge needed as our experienced volunteers and MPNP rangers will work with you to fill any skill or knowledge shortage. You need a reasonable level of fitness though no lifting or hard exercising is involved. You need gardening gloves, a hat and long sleeves and trousers. We have tools and equipment to share.
