Website Central Bayside Community Health Services

Volunteer from home during restrictions! You can help an elderly person in your community who is suffering loneliness.

Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing a wide range of services to support healthy living, general wellbeing and social connection in our community. Our purpose is to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals through innovative, responsive services delivered in partnership with our community.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a government funded program that matches a volunteer visitor with a lonely or isolated person living in an aged care facility or in their own home.  The Volunteer and resident are matched according to similar interests or background. The visits are regular and purely social, with the intention of developing an ongoing friendship and social connectedness. Volunteers are asked to make the commitment for at least 12 months.

At a time when social isolation can be felt by us all, the challenge can be even greater for those in our community who are most vulnerable. Even if we can’t visit in person, a phone call, email or video chat can make all the difference!  We are currently looking for Volunteers who will can commence visits remotely, until restrictions allow for face to face visits to recommence in the Kingston and Bayside areas.
