Participate is a community inclusion program of genU that supports people with a disability to engage in a range of different lifestyle and community inclusion activities, including music, arts, crafts, cooking, drama and much more. Our Team is enthusiastic about supporting and empowering clients to reach their goals, whatever they may be.

The role:

We would love to welcome a volunteer to our genU Rosebud site weekly or fortnightly between 1 and 2.30pm (can be flexible) to play an instrument and encourage clients to interact and participate in the performance. The goals of this volunteer position are to bring enjoyment, appreciation of music and community interaction – sharing your joy of music!

For you:

  • Make a real impact in the life of people living with disability including sharing enjoyment of music and interacting with other people in their community.
  • Meet new people and grow your connection to your community.
  • Receive ongoing support and training throughout your journey, including a fully funded NDIS worker screening check.
  • Be welcomed into genU’s friendly and inclusive workplace.

About you:

  • The ability to play an instrument proficiently to play to an audience.
  • Be able to bring your own instrument.
  • Enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people in a disability setting.
  • Enjoy sharing your skills and knowledge and making a positive change to people’s lives.
  • Be 18 years or older.

Time Commitment (flexible):

1 – 1.5 hours per week or per fortnight between 1:00pm and 2:30pm, Monday-Friday. Days and times can be varied according to your availability.
