Mornington Peninsula Shire

For almost fifteen years the Mornington Peninsula Shire has teamed with Connecting2Australia (C2A) to host a ‘Collaborative Garden Group’ from the Eco Living Display Centre at the Briars.  Every fortnight, around 10-15 adults with disabilities come for two hours to do gardening and enjoy the outdoors in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We are now looking for someone with experience in working with people with a disability who also enjoys gardening to support this group.

You would need to be available every second Friday morning 9.30am – 12pm and able to get yourself to and from the Briars in Mt Martha. You will be helping engage with people with a disability through a shared interest in gardening and learning about nature. Duties include planning fortnightly gardening activities or alternative undercover activities during inclement weather, greeting participants and overseeing the activities. Support workers from C2A will accompany the participants, and gardening equipment will be provided.

Connecting2Australia is a local registered NDIS provider whose mission is to create opportunities for people with a disability to support them to live their best life.
