We have a vacancy on our Board for a Treasurer, to commence in October 2020. The position of Treasurer is the key to keeping the organisation’s finances and the position requires time, dedication and financial expertise.

The Treasurer is supported by a Finance Officer and maintains a watching brief on the monthly accounts ensuring appropriate procedures are in place to keep things running smoothly and that there are no surprises.

The Treasurer works with the President, the Manager and Finance Officer to draw up the annual budget, which is then approved by the Board.

The Treasurer will need to be able to prepare reports for the members and the Board that will show both the current situation and the possibilities for the future. They will need to advise the Board in their decision-making, for example alerting them of potential tax implications of particular activities.

Mount Eliza Neighbourhood House employs a Finance Officer who along with the Centre and Finance Support staff, records the day to day financial transactions, administers payroll and prepares the quarterly reports. The Finance Officer and Support staff report to the Manager.
