Protect & promote the rights of people with a disability

Community Visitor volunteers are the eyes and ears of the community. They visit either: group homes for people with cognitive disabilities, mental health facilities or supported residential services (similar to boarding hostels) and enquire into the care and welfare of residents/patients to ensure that they are being treated with dignity and respect.

Community Visitor volunteers work in pairs and visit services within their local community.

At the end of the visit they write a short report detailing their findings of the visit.
