Southern Peninsula Community Support (SPCS) provides a safety net for the community, supporting people who are in crisis or experiencing disadvantage, who often fall through the gaps.  We offer a wide range of support including food and material aid, advocacy, negotiation and referral, and importantly we provide a space where people will feel valued and listened to, fostering trust and connection with our community.  We encourage independence and aim to empower people to make positive change in their lives.

The Southern Peninsula Laundry and Shower program (SPLaSh) is run off-site on the foreshore.  The program is designed to successfully engage people who are rough sleeping and experiencing other forms of homelessness by offering access to showers, laundry, material aid and a meal.  Many of the people who attend SPLaSh are experiencing extreme crisis and/or severe disadvantage, so the program is managed by skilled paid staff and supported by select skilled volunteers.

SPLaSh volunteers ideally have a background or experience in community work, and will often need to have a period of training within our main centre before going through the SPLaSh selection process and probationary period.
