Website Southern Peninsula Community Support
Providing a safety net for our community.
Southern Peninsula Community Support (SPCS) provides a safety net for the community, supporting people who are in crisis or experiencing disadvantage, who often fall through the gaps. We offer a wide range of support including food and material aid, advocacy, negotiation and referral. Most importantly we provide a space where people will feel valued and listened to, fostering trust and connection with our community. We encourage independence and aim to empower people to make positive change in their lives.
We run a walk-up Fresh Food program every Monday morning in our driveway and need some help with set up of the program, which involves lifting and carrying, set up of tables and tidying up boxes etc – 9am-1pm on Mondays. We also need some help with general maintenance of the outside area, and some assistance with small jobs in the building, such as putting up shelves and fixing small things (the Shire takes care of the bigger problems!). Altogether this takes an hour or two a week.
If you enjoy working as part of a fun team, can manage lifting and carrying okay, enjoy a spot of gardening and know your way around a toolbox, we encourage you to apply! Applications are available on our website at www.spcsic.org/volunteering/ or please email email@example.com or phone 5986 1285 for more information.
