We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people and adults that are at risk of social isolation to reconnect with their community and the things they love to do.

Irene has a sweet, bubbly personality who loves her pet cat, dog and bird. She enjoys watching tv shows like Greek MasterChef and reading the Greek newspaper. Irene suffered a stroke which has impacted her speech. We are looking for a friendly and understanding volunteer that will feel comfortable to carry a lot of the conversation and be very patient.

Irene* would like a volunteer to visit her at home so they can enjoy some refreshments together, go for a gentle walk, sit out in the garden or watch some TV together. The ideal volunteer will be Greek speaking and available for a weekly visit one day between Mon-Fri. You will use your skills to provide companionship and support Irene. Practical communication skills and confidence to work independently are a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who we assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confronting injustice to make an impact in your community. If you are interested in this role please call 13 93 75, and quote PP-S-06.
